My daughter wants some device where she has wifi all the time. She says you can buy this gadget
that sends a signal and you don't have a monthly charge for it. Is there such a thing? I saw
this ATT hotspot gadge on amazon but I don't want another bill for data.
You can piggyback (tether) your mobile phone if it has that capability or use one of the hotspot devices
(if your device doesn't already pick up wifi) that will pick up a public/unsecured wifi, but that
depends on if you have an access to that wherever you might be. Public/unsecured wifi comes with its
own dangers and someone is still paying for it, such as the city government, library or a business.
Some companies (such as Clear) also expand their internet to their customers to provide "wifi on the go".
There are also the new MiFi devices which offer discounted internet access, but it is still a data plan.
I don't know any device that provides continuous wifi access for free.
If you have internet in your house, then you can use a wireless router to turn your whole house and even your
backyard into a wifi zone - but I'm guessing that is not what you are looking for.
