- I would recommend University Apts off River Road. Nice apartments. My daughter will live there next
year, and my son works there and is the maintenance person. Call Amanda at 706-353-0779 she is a really
NOT the Club on Riverbend. My daughters lived there and were sick all the time till I moved here and they
started spending time at my house and sleeping over .... I think there's a lot of mold and mildew!! Yuck.
My daughter now lives at Scarborough Place on Research Dr and it is lovely, quiet, well cared for. More
professional than student, from what I've seen.
DeVille is great! It's off Prince on Grady Ave. I loved living there when I was in school.
It was around $640....It's a small complex, but has a pool and the apartments are actually decent sized
(huge kitchen/living room). But it doesn't have any of the amenities that the "college" complexes do
(tanning beds, gyms, etc) I would give them a call and see what they have available...they were great to
work with when I was living there.
My sister has a couple of apartments for rent at River's Edge Apartments on the Atlanta Highway. It's a quiet
complex. I don't know what the rent rate is. Her number is 706-353-2700. Hope this helps.
One of the best kept secrets is Bromsgrove apartments. They're off baxter, basically across the street from freshman
dorms. I've lived there for 3 years, staying after I graduated cause the rent is cheap. They have 2br/2ba's for
570-680/month. It's very quiet, they usually don't rent to underclassmen. Definitely a non-party neighborhood.
I've heard of one car getting broken into during this time and no burglaries (not to say they didn't occur, just
never heard of it happening). Although it is located next to public housing, it's the MUCH quieter public housing
area right next to campus, and there is a barbed wire fence that runs the entire length of the complex to Baxter.
The BG web site is: www.bromsgroveapartments.com If they happen to go for my complex, they do have a referral
credit, so it'd be nice if they mention my name on the application.
Timothy Woods is a great place to live. It's definitely not a "party" complex and it is gated. I currently live in
Timothy Woods, and would have to say that it's beautiful, reasonably priced, quiet, and quaint. You can Google the
complex and find all the info. you need. I hope this helps!
Royal Springs Apartments located on Springdale St, three blocks off S. Milledge. Contact Bush Properties at 706-353-7368.
It is a small, older complex with a pool. Located just three blocks away from the UGA Bus stop and units have washer-dryer.
University Garden Apartments... Close to campus & student friendly-- for serious students, that is!
I live at Scarborough Place apartments on Research Dr. off Barnett Shoals. It's a 2bd/2ba, very spacious, and very well-maintained.
The apartments come with either a sunroom or a fireplace. Ours has a sunroom, which my roommate and I love. It comes with
a laundry room, full-sized washer and dryer (not one of those horrible stackables!), dishwasher, and garbage disposal. Each
roommate has own bathroom (yay!), though one is en suite, and the other is not. They are managed by C. Hamilton & Associates.
Their office is on Milledge, near Prince. We only pay $725 ($362.50 each) per month. You really can't find a better deal in
Athens for that price that includes all those amenities and great management. As I am a young professional at UGA, I like my
complex because it's NOT one of those party apartments. The people I have met there are all grad students or working professionals,
like me and my roommate!
I lived in Cambridge Apartments off of Barnett Shoals Road, and I LOVED it. They are a little older apartments, but are wonderful.
I've lived in a few apartments around Athens, and Cambridge was my favorite. $639 - $669/month
I lived there alone for almost two years, and I felt completely safe (and I'm a big sissy!). There was a good mix of college
students, young married couples, a few kids, etc., and I adored the office staff and maintenance guys.
I live at Tara and it it's a party complex - its not too bad of a place. If they want to call the office - Tell them that I referred
them and they want the great deal that I get!
It is NOT a party complex. I have a 2 bedroom 1 & 1/2 bath town house (2 story) and it's $555 a month
We have a duplex for rent in winterville. If your interested you can call my husband at 706-340-2278. It's 10 minutes from uga.
I think the rent is 500.00 or 550.00 not sure though
