Sorry about the delay in responding, but I wanted to wait until I had gotten my car out of shop. I ended up taking my Toyota to Heyward Allen Collision Center due to recommendations and location near my residence, and I was greatly satisfied with the results. Here is a summary of the recommendations I received:
I recently had my 2008 Nissan Maxima repaired by Elite Paint and Body. They were simply fantastic!!
Every detail was handled between them and my insurance company. All I did was drop my car off,
Enterprise picked me up, and I got my car back a week later. The work is PERFECT. You cannot
tell that my car was ever hit. I highly recommend them!!
My husband and son both liked Elite.
I have used Elite several times over the last decade for repairs varying from minor to major, and been very pleased. They're generally less
expensive than Patton Brothers, too.
- I have used Elite before and was not pleased. It took them over a month to get a taillight and bumper (parts) in for my car (meanwhile, a cop
pulled me over to yell at me about having a busted taillight...), a week to fix it, and then when I picked up my car, the reflector on the
trunk of the car was not put back on the car correctly, causing it to catch water when it rains, etc. I called them about it, and they
offered to fix it if I stopped by (which I appreciated) - but honestly, who lets even a minor body job out the door without making sure
everything is in place? They seemed lazy to me. They also were sometimes hard to get on the phone when I called.
It also bothered me that it took 5 weeks to get a busted taillight and a dented bumper fixed, while Elmer James had earlier fixed almost $6K
worth of damage to the same car in under a month.
Elite Auto Collision on Commerce Blvd. off the Atlanta Highway. Tell Marty that Ruth sent you! Seriously, with three
teen drivers, I've got 'em on speed dial. They were recommended by my insurance company (Nationwide) years ago and
I'm still using them.
Patton Brothers is great, see Mike Ring he will gladly help you out!
For what it's worth, let me put in another good work for Patton Bros. Body Shop -- USAA (the best bank in the world) contracts
w/Patton Bros. for all their body work repairs -- that's a pretty good reference for them -- both price wise and competence!
I have used Modern Body out in Hull before and had no problem with insurance accepting their bid. They actually have
done all of our work.
I would also try Modern Body. The number is 706-548-1169 and the address is 1105 Hull Road, Athens, GA 30601.
They do excellent work.
Modern Body (706) 548-1169 It is owned by 4 brothers who have been in business for many years. And they work great
with insurance companies.
I've been using Modern Body Shop between Athens Tech and Hull since I've been driving. Their number is: 7065481169.
They are family owned so they understand the importance of quality work at a decent price.
The Body Shop [(706) 546-1158;located at 174 Old Epps Bridge Rd, Athens]just did a repair job for me. They were reasonable,
fast, and came in under estimate by about $200. I highly recommend them!
Mixon's Used Cars is Awesome, Ask for Paul Mixon he will take care of you!!!!!!!!!!!
I've always had good results with Mixon's...they fixed some stuff on my new truck better than the Ford factory...See Al or Dwight.
Overall, the Patton Brothers are really liked by most but seem to take a while, a few
liked Athens Paint and Body and a few complained of their services, and lastly, I
had 2 very good reviews of Elmer James Body Shop.
I went with Elmer James since they are able to do the repairs in only 5 days, they
