Auto Body Work

Several lists
    2012

Sorry about the delay in responding, but I wanted to wait until I had gotten my car out of shop. I ended up taking my Toyota to Heyward Allen Collision Center due to recommendations and location near my residence, and I was greatly satisfied with the results. Here is a summary of the recommendations I received:

  • Elder's Body Shop:
    • Elder's Body shop is the best. I have done business with them for years.
    • I think the world of Elders Body Shop. They've done work on several of our vehicles -- they're quick and good and their prices are fair.
    • One negative comment.
  • Heyward Allen Collision Center:
    • I know one the collision workers for Heyward Allen. He does really good detailed repairs.
    • Heywood Allen did the repairs on my Rav4 and they did a great job.. both times that it was hit..
    • One negative comment.
  • Elite Paint and Body Shop:
    • I was impressed with the quick service and the quality of their workmanship. They did the full repair inside of a week. I've had no problems with the paint or body repairs they performed.
    • Elite Auto Center in Bogart on Commerce Dr. across from the Chevrolet place. They are a pro shop, recommended by several insurance companies. They are really nice, quick and do good work.
Gary's Automotive & Collision Repair in Bogart 770-725-7440
    • He has always done great work at a good price for me.
    • Gary is very dependable, honest and does a great job!!
    • We have used him for several years and have always been satisfied with price and work.
  • Modern Body:
    • I've always been pleased with Modern Body on Hwy 72. (just around the corner from Athens Tech) It's a family run business.
    • I vote for Modern Body Shop in Hull (pretty much across 72 from Athens Tech). Great service.

  • The Body Shop of Athens -- First time I went there I got quotes from four different body shops, and they were the lowest. Then when I actually took it in for the work, they said some of it wasn't necessary and charged me even less than they quoted! Never been to a car repair place that has charged less than they quoted before. I've taken another vehicle in for work there another time and both times they did great work at very reasonable prices. Worth checking out.
  • Wolf Creek Paint & Bod -- I would also like to suggest Wolf Creek Paint & Body - my husband is the owner and worked for Southeast Toyota for 10 years repairing the new cars to factory standards so that they could be sold as new to dealerships despite body damage received in transit to their processing facility. He has always done occasional work on the side at our home body shop, but decided to open full time in September. Because it is his shop and he does the work himself, he is able to offer a much lower labor rate than other shops. You may check out his Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WolfCreekPaintAndBody) to see some of the work he's done, or call him at 706-340-6167. His name is Terrell Bailey (pronounced like Terrell Hall).

  • Check out Howard's Body Shop ... all-around good guy. He is on Broad Street, down from the Holiday Inn and before Milledge Ave. from campus.

  • Akins Body Shop in Ila does amazing work for a very low

  • I have used Patton Brothers and Athens Paint & Body Shop. Both were positive experiences but Patton failed to meet their promise date, etc. I have used Athens Paint & Body several times and have always been extremely pleased with their repair work. I most recently used Athens Paint & Body last year.

  • I highly recommend Denton's body shop in Commerce - 706-335-2037 - ask for Charles or Stacy. You will never even notice that damage was ever done.

  • I know him personally and will take great care of you! Very honest!

Overall, the Patton Brothers are really liked by most but seem to take a while, a few
liked Athens Paint and Body and a few complained of their services, and lastly, I
had 2 very good reviews of Elmer James Body Shop.

I went with Elmer James since they are able to do the repairs in only 5 days, they
are reasonably priced, and professional. (so the car will not be totaled! :)
