Thanks to everyone who sent in recommendations. I got a great deal with AMS Entertainment.
Here is a list of everything I received:
You can actually rent just the PA system, and hook her stereo or a standalone CD player into the system
(you will want to check your CD player to make sure it has the correct output, if it has one at all).
There's no sense in paying for a DJ if you already have the music picked out & don't need "entertainment."
Check with places like Chick Piano, Barron's, etc. to see if they rent sound systems and if they can help you
figure out what you need to rent & what you already have that you can use. If you wind up looking for a DJ
after all, I've used AMS - http://www.amsentertainment.com/athens/
Marcus Dobbs DJ's, his contact is 706.255.507. Give him a call, he does a really great job and
A home stereo system works well. With proper speaker placement. Keep music low and in the background.
I did this for my sister, (years ago)using a small (at that time) tape player and a home stereo system
with detachable speakers. A lot of these items can be bought at the flea market....Cheap....
I can recommend Al Parker from Eatonton as a DJ; he is reasonable and I was very pleased with him as a DJ.
You can tell him that I recommended him!
My mom and step dad do karaoke at different places they maybe interested in just hooking the system up for you.
You can give them a call at 706-248-0679 or 706-247-9752.
I used Kevin at Dawg-Town Entertainment and DJ He was great
Marvin... we cant remember his last name. 706-254-0113 Very nice guy.....
